The email configuration page in ProdSys allows users to set up their preferred email system for sending emails through the platform. Whether you prefer using ProdSys’s default SMTP, your own SMTP server, or an OAuth integration, this guide will help you configure your email settings efficiently.
Step 1: Access the Email Configuration Page
Navigate to the Profile menu in the upper right corner.
Click on Email Setup in the profile window. This will open the email configuration settings.
Step 2: Choosing Your Email Type
You have three email configuration options:
ProdSys SMTP (default option)
Own SMTP
OAuth integration
Step 3: ProdSys SMTP (Default Option)
If you want to use the ProdSys SMTP server, simply select ProdSys SMTP.
No further configuration is required. Emails will be sent using ProdSys's default settings.
Step 4: Configuring Your Own SMTP
If you prefer to use your own SMTP server, follow these steps:
Select "Own SMTP" from the email type dropdown.
Fill in the required fields:
SMTP host: The server address of your email provider.
Email: The email address you want to send emails from.
SMTP port: Enter the correct SMTP port.
Email password: Enter the password for the specified email account.
If your SMTP server requires SSL, check the Use SSL box.
Click Save to apply the settings.
Note: If any fields are left empty, the system will continue using the default noreply email provided by ProdSys.
Step 5: Configuring OAuth Integration (e.g. Office 365)
If you prefer using OAuth for email, select OAuth Integration from the email type dropdown.
Select Microsoft Outlook from the Email System dropdown.
Click Activate to start the authentication process.
Note! To activate this for all employees, an Admin with access to Office 365 must enable this the first time. After that, all employees will be able to use this service.You’ll be redirected to sign in and grant permission to use your Microsoft account for sending emails.
Once complete, your email will be configured through the OAuth integration.
Step 6: Save and Test
Once you've set up the email system according to your needs, always test to ensure emails are being sent properly. You can send a test email from the system to confirm the configuration works as expected.
