Shapes' default payroll period is a calendar month i.e. from the start to the end of the month. However, you can customize this by clicking on the "monthly" policy and choosing the period that works for you and your company.
If different office locations have different payroll periods, you can create multiple policies.
Within a month period, it is also possible to set up multiple cycle periods e.g. semi monthly for your US based employees.
