Integrating Shapes with TeamTailor allows you to remove all the manual steps of importing your new hire into Shapes and removes the risk of human error.
All Super Admins can integrate in 3 simple steps. Please note that setting up the integration is only available for those with permissions at the Super Admin level.
Enter Shapes' Account Settings -> TeamTailor
Click connect and generate the URL
Enter TeamTailor -> Settings -> API Keys -> New API Key
Create the API Key with Admin Scope.
Create the webhook
Copy and paste the Team Tailor Signature Key and TeamTailor API Key from TeamTailor into Shapes and click "Connect"
In Shapes, you will see a confirmation that the integration was connected
From now on, any employee that is hired in TeamTailor will automatically be added to Shapes.
How does the partner API connection work?
TeamTailor also offers Shapes as an app in its Marketplace, using a "partner mode" connection. Instead of creating an API key and webhook by hand, a Super Admin generates a single connection token in Shapes (Account Settings -> Integrations -> TeamTailor) and pastes it into the Shapes app inside TeamTailor. That token is what tells TeamTailor which Shapes account a hire belongs to.
Once connected, add the Shapes "Create employee" trigger to whichever hiring stage in your pipeline means someone has been hired. From that point on, whenever a candidate reaches that stage, TeamTailor calls Shapes' partner API automatically to send the hire across -> no manual export or import needed.
The new hire then appears in Shapes under People as a Pending Arrival employee, with their job and team already filled in from the data TeamTailor sent. Every future hire on that stage syncs the same way, on its own.
