How to Complete a Performance Review (For Employees, Managers and Peers)

This guide will walk you through the performance review process from the employee, manager and peer perspectives.

Getting Started

All participants will receive an email when it’s time to complete a performance review. Clicking the link in the email will take you to your assigned tasks.

For Employees

Step 1: Access Your Review

  • Click on the task titled "Complete Performance Review."

  • You’ll be taken to your employee profile, where the review form is located.

Step 2: Fill Out the Review

  • Answer each question in the form. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

  • Question types may include:

    • Text responses

    • Multiple or single selection

    • Ranking questions

Step 3: Use AI Assistance

  • Use the AI Refinement Tool to polish your written responses for tone and professionalism.

  • You can:

    • Accept the refined suggestion

    • Edit it manually

    • Revert to the original

Step 4: Submit

  • You can save your progress and return later.

  • Navigate to "Reviews" to continue working on your draft.

  • When you’re ready, click Submit (it will be visible to your manager straight away).

  • Your manager will submit their review when ready, but only once published you'll be able to view their responses.

Step 5: Goals

During your meeting with your manager, you can set goals for the current review cycle. In the Goals tab, you will see:

  • Previous cycle goals, where available, so you can review goals from earlier review cycles and reflect on your progress over time.

  • Current cycle goals, where you and your manager can agree on new goals for this cycle.

You can add clear, specific goals during your meeting, making it easy to capture decisions and next steps as you discuss them. You can assign a weight to each goal to show their relative importance and help clarify priorities for the cycle ahead.

For Managers

Step 1: Access Your Assigned Review

  • Like employees, you’ll receive an email prompting you to complete a review for your direct reports.

  • Click the task for the relevant employee and select "Complete Performance Review."

  • Managers can also see all the employees they manage in one main view.

Step 2: Fill Out the Review

  • Complete all required questions.

  • You can also use the AI Refinement Tool to enhance your responses.

  • Managers may see additional fields that are confidential and not visible to the employee.

Step 3: Review the Employee's Input

  • You’ll be able to see what the employee has written in their self-assessment.

Step 4: Submit & Publish

  • Once you’ve completed your responses, click Submit.

  • After discussing the review with the employee in a meeting, click Share with employee to make the review visible to them.

  • You will now be able to see an AI Performance Summary that reflects the input from both participants (this is not visible to the employee).

Managers can access the forms of their direct and indirect reports in one view. Click on the performance reviews on the left side bar > choose the specific cycle > Manage tab. You'll also be able to see which employees have submitted their forms.

For Peers

Step 1: Access The Review

  • Click on the task titled "Complete Peer Performance Review" in the Assigned Tasks section.

Step 2: Fill Out the Review and Submit

  • Answer each question in the form. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

  • Question types may include:

    • Text responses

    • Multiple or single selection

    • Ranking questions

  • When you’re ready, click Submit

Peer reviews can be shared only if the cycle settings allow it (the manager chooses if and who to share it with).
