How the Shapes Claude Connector Works
The setup process has two parts:
An organization admin adds the Shapes connector to the company’s Claude account
Each employee connects their own Shapes account
This approach keeps data secure and ensures users only have access to the data they’re authorized to see.
Step 1: Add the Shapes Connector to Your Organization
An organizational Claude admin must first add the Shapes connector.
This can be done by:
HR teams
IT administrators
Any authorized organizational admin
Option A: Add Through the Connectors Menu
Option B: Add Through Organization Settings
Go to Organization Settings
Select Connectors
Click Add Connector
Search for Shapes
Click Add
Once added, the Shapes connector becomes available across the organization.
Step 2: Employees Connect Their Personal Shapes Accounts
After the organization enables the connector, each employee must connect their own Shapes account.
This ensures:
Secure access control
Users only see data they personally have permission to access
Personal data remains isolated and protected
