Why import historical reviews?

Importing past performance reviews into the platform helps you create a complete performance history for each employee. This allows managers and HR teams to:

  • Track employee growth and performance trends over time

  • Ensure past feedback is available during future review cycles

  • Maintain a single source of truth for performance data

  • Provide managers with richer context when evaluating team members

By uploading historical reviews, you ensure that past evaluations remain accessible and actionable inside the system.

Preparing Your Import File

To import historical reviews, prepare a spreadsheet with two tabs.

Tab 1: Review Responses

The first tab should contain:

  • The employee’s email address

  • All the questions that were asked to the employee in the review

  • The corresponding responses

Each row should represent a review entry for a specific employee.

This tab allows the system to understand what questions were asked and what answers were provided during the historical review.

Tab 2: Review Relationships

The second tab should include:

  • The employee’s email address

  • The manager’s email address

  • All the questions that were asked to the manager in the review

  • The corresponding responses

This information allows the system to correctly associate the review with both the employee being reviewed and the manager who conducted the review.

Importing the File

Once your spreadsheet is ready:

  1. Navigate to the Performance Review app.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Import from file.

  4. Drag and upload your performance review spreadsheet.

  5. Choose the review cycle name.

  6. Set the cycle start and end dates.

After completing these steps, the system will process the file and import the historical reviews into the selected cycle.

To avoid employees seeing manager responses that they weren't supposed to see, all manager forms will remain unpublished. Each manager has the ability to publish it if they want the employee to see the responses.
