Import History and Undoing an Import

How to view a log of past people, bookings, and balances imports in Account Settings, and how to undo one.

Written by Efrat Barak Zadok

Every people, time-away bookings, and balances import you run in Shapes is recorded in an Import History tab in Account Settings — who ran it, which file was used, when, and how many rows it affected. From there, an import can also be undone.

Where to Find It

Import History is reachable from the same Import menus you use to run an import:

  • People Directory → Import, for people imports

  • Time Management → Import, for bookings and balances imports

Undoing an Import

Open the row menu for any import in the list and select Undo. Before it commits, a confirmation screen reports how many rows will be undone and how many will be skipped.

Undo only reverses rows that haven't been touched since the import ran. A row is skipped if it changed afterward — for example, if someone edited that employee's data, or a later import touched the same row.

Undoing an import that created new people removes those people entirely, along with any time-away bookings and balances they have.

If several imports have touched the same people, they need to be undone in order — the most recent one first. If everything affected by an import has since changed, nothing is undone and the import stays available to undo later, once conditions allow it.
