Just imagine, the reports you have spent hours (if not days) building for your next reporting meeting can be built in minutes and updated live! All it takes is the right insight and the right filters - you and your team will be working smarter and faster in no time!
Give your Dashboard a Title
Make sure you give each Dashboard a unique title to provide context for the data. You can also create a short description for the Dashboard, explain the use case, and give further context.
Adding Widgets
Every dashboard is made up of widgets. Firstly, map it out - what is the purpose of this dashboard, and what goal are you trying to achieve? Are you looking to see your employee's average tenure? Turnover reasons? Overview of your entire organization? The list is endless; but it is important to add widgets that go together so that the end result will tell a story.
Adding Insights
Insights help you visualize data to understand and interpret the data easily. Insights are great for storytelling, and to explain trends and patterns. Select "Add Widget" and click on "Insight".
In the Insights Center, you can search for the specific insight you need or scroll through the many insight options we offer - you might get inspired, or find an insight you never thought of!
All insights provide an interactive preview before adding to your dashboard. Please note that any filters you use in the preview will not save when adding.
Breakdown
Once you pick the type of insight, such as "Headcount", you can build the insight to look exactly how you'd like by selecting "Add Breakdowns".
In this case, we will break down Headcount by the team to see how many employees are in each team. We can also add another breakdown to see the number of employees from each gender in each team.
Select the type of chart e.g. Bar, Table, Pie. In this case, we will choose "Bar" so that each team is shown as it's own bar.
Adding Reports
Reports are great for showing specific information in a table. You can choose every field/column that is interesting for you, and export the information or add it to your Dashboard.
Select "Add Widget" and click on "Report".
Under "Custom Report", you can select the columns of interest.
Choose what you'd like to do with this data:
Export the table - this will create a CSV file and save it to your computer
Add report - this will add the table to your dashboard, allowing you to see it in the context of your other insights and to start filtering it
Filtering
Adding insights is just the beginning - control the data you'd like to see by using filters. We have filtering on two levels: dashboard level and insight level. You can filter these levels by time frame (7 days, quarterly, yearly, etc.)
Also filter the Dashboard by Fields (Job, Team, Office, etc.)
Dashboard Filtering
When filtering on the Dashboard level, you are setting all insights to be filtered by the same attributes. For example, if you set the dashboard to be viewed at a 14-day period, all the insights will be displayed with data within that 14-day period.
Dashboard Sharing
Since Dashboards are only available for Super Admins, you can share a specific dashboard with whoever you'd like. The shared dashboard is always live and updated. This means that you only need to share it once, and the recipient will always be able to access the report (unless you remove access).
On the top right of the Dashboard, you can click the button called "Share". From there, you can switch on Dashboard sharing and send the link to whomever you'd like.
Recipients of the link will not be able to create any additional widgets or reports, or add or remove filters. They will only be able to customize the date period of the dashboard.
How often is the data refreshed?
Your dashboards refresh automatically every 20 minutes, so any updates made in the People Directory will be reflected in your analytics.
