Please note that this feature is available only for the Super Admin permission level. You can read more about permissions in the Permission Levels article.
To enter the Customization tab, click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen and select Account Settings.
You'll land on the first tab labelled Customization, which is organized into three sections: Account, Email, and User Notification Defaults.
Account
Under the Account section, you can configure:
Account Name - the name of your organization as it appears across the platform.
Default Language - Super Admins can set a default language for the entire account. Individual users can override it in their own personal settings, but the account default applies to everyone who hasn't set a personal preference.
Avatar Icon - appears in the top navigation panel. Recommended resolution: 40x40px.
Full Logo - used in forms and email communications. Recommended resolution: 120x40px. Falls back to the Shapes logo if none is set.
Wallpaper - sets a background image for all employees, to match your brand.
Email Settings
Control how system emails from Shapes appear to your employees.
Sender Name - customize the name that appears as the sender on all system emails sent from Shapes. Employees will see emails sent as {Sender Name} via Shapes (e.g., "Acme HR via Shapes" instead of "Shapes"). Maximum 100 characters.
Reply-To Email - set a custom reply-to address for all outgoing Shapes emails. Replies from employees will be sent to this address. When left blank, replies go to the default Shapes address.
Cover Banner (Branding in Notification Emails) - an image that appears at the top of every system email, including survey invites, time-away emails, and performance review emails. Recommended resolution: 1200x200px, max file size 1MB. Can be removed if previously set - if removed, no banner appears in emails; there is no fallback image.
User Notification Defaults
Super Admins can set default notification channels for the account. These defaults apply only to users who haven't made their own personal choice in My Settings; existing personal preferences are left untouched.
For each notification type below, you can toggle Email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams on or off as the account default:
