A view is a SELECT statement that is stored permanently as a database object.

Create view

A view can be created from the following panels:

Database explorer

Diagram explorer

Go to the views section and press the "+ Create new" button

Display or Edit a View

You can edit the view DDL from the following panels:

- Database explorer

- Diagram explorer

In the views section, click on a view and press the "+ Create new" button from the menu.

View SQL Script Panel

When you edit a view, you will see the script panel with its full DDL. You can modify the view using this panel.

The panel can be rolled up or rolled down using the up or down arrows on the top.

For Enterprise plan users:

Analyze view - SqlDBM can automatically parse the view script to detect the available columns. Click the "Analyze View" button after saving your project with any pending changes and completing the view script.

Analyze all views - you can bulk-analyze all views from the Database and Diagram Explorer panels. Click on the "Views" menu in either panel and select the "Analyze All" option.

View Properties

You can specify and configure the following properties for a view:

- schema

- name

For Enterprise plan users:

-columns (view Analyzed columns)

-columns metadata (if the project contains the related table)

-related objects (view list of related tables and redirect if the tables exist in the project)

-format (color).
