Allow or restrict access to your data models through admin-managed IP policies

IP access management is a security feature that allows organizations to permit or restrict access to their data models through admin-managed IP policies.

Accessing IP access management

IP access management is accessible by the SqlDBM admin and alternate admins.

As an admin, head to the account menu, and click on "IP access management."

Create an IP policy

An IP policy can be created as an allow or block list and can encompass multiple IPs and IP ranges. To create an IP policy, click the "Create IP policy" button at the top of the screen.

Next, specify the policy parameters:

  • Policy type - allow or block

  • Policy name - a descriptive identifier

  • IP list - specify comma-separated IPs or IP ranges (using the dash, slash [CIDR], or asterisk format)

  • Comment - a longer descriptive text

Hover over the "Accepted IP formats" informational to review the accepted formats.

When finished, click the "Add policy" button.

Edit an IP policy

Once a policy has been created, its details can be edited from the same screen as follows:

  • Policy type - click on "allow" or "block" to set accordingly

  • Policy name - click on the name to bring up the edit window

  • IP list - click on the "Edit" pencil icon to bring up the IP list editor

  • Comment - click on the comment to bring up the edit window

  • Active/Not active - click on the switch to toggle between states

Enabling an IP policy (setting it to "Active" can be done at any time by clicking the switch to the right of the policy.

Delete an IP policy

To delete an IP policy, mark the selection box next to one or multiple policies you wish to remove and click the "Delete."

Type the "delete" prompt and click the "Conform and delete" button to complete the deletion.
