Concrete Batch Tracking is where you plan concrete by mix, schedule pours, and log what actually arrived against what you planned.
Before you start
Concrete Batch Tracking is turned on per company. If Project Management is missing from the top navigation bar, contact us.
By default, Admins, Purchasers and Users can open it, and Admins and Purchasers can create trackers. Your company can change this per role in Company Settings.
Where to find it
Open Project Management in the top navigation bar, then Concrete Batch Tracking. Concrete does not appear in the Commitments list.
What the page shows
The Aggregated budget summary band across the top totals your concrete exposure. It is labelled Counted trackers only, because a tracker joins the total only once it has a budget and a priced plan to measure against. The band includes Budget, Total exposure, Committed cost, Est. $/CY and Forecast $/CY.
With nothing counted yet, the band reads Nothing counted yet. Set a budget on a tracker below and it will total here.
Below the band the list splits under 2 headings, Tracked against a budget and Not counted yet. A tracker in the second group is missing a budget, a priced plan, or both. The headings appear only when there is something in each group.
The status chips and the search box work the same as on the Commitments page: All, Drafted, Confirmed, Partially delivered, Delivered, Closed and Cancelled.
Inside a tracker
Open a tracker and you get 4 tabs:
Mix List: the mixes on this tracker, with estimated cubic yards and cost per CY.
Pour List: the pours you have scheduled, and the status of each.
Log: what was actually delivered, by pour and mix.
Invoices: the invoices matched to this tracker's pours.
Log and Invoices appear once the tracker has been saved.
Notes and limits
Each tracker has a primary vendor, and a backup vendor if you want one. The primary vendor is required when you create it.
Your company can rename the Mix List column titles, so yours may not match the defaults shown here.
Best practices
Give a tracker a budget and a priced plan as soon as you create it. Until it has both it sits under Not counted yet and adds nothing to the Aggregated budget summary, so your total exposure reads lower than it is.
Set the backup vendor at the same time as the primary. The primary is required to create the tracker; the backup is not, which is why it gets forgotten.
Watch Forecast $/CY against Est. $/CY as pours are logged. The gap between them is your cost drift on the mix.
If this doesn't work
