We're excited that you're considering joining the Subi family!
This guide will walk you through what to expect, including the steps involved before, during, and after your migration.
Remember, we’ll be with you every step of the way – from preparing your data to completing the migration. For further information on how Subi can enhance your business, check out our Get Started with Subi article.
We have a dedicated migration process for larger stores. After submitting your request, our Enterprise team will contact you to determine if you’re eligible for the Enterprise Migration process.
Step 1: Submit Your Migration Ticket
The first step in your migration journey is to submit a migration ticket, which will help us understand your current setup.
To submit your ticket, please go to the Settings tab of your Subi panel, click on Request migration from the Migration settings, fill in the required information, and submit your migration ticket.
You’ll need to provide details such as:
The subscription platform you’re currently using
The payment gateway you’re working with (Shopify Payments, Stripe, etc.)
The number of active subscriptions you manage
Once you submit the form, we will review your request within two business day to determine if your migration is eligible.
Step 2: Pre-Migration Preparation
Once you’ve booked your meeting, there are a few pre-migration steps to help get your store ready.
Install Subi
If you haven’t already done so, install Subi from the Shopify App Store.Recreate Your Current Subscription Plans
In Subi, recreate all the subscription plans you’re currently offering. Once this is done, place a test order to ensure everything works as expected.
Disable the Subscription Widget of Your Previous App
To ensure new subscribers are directed to Subi and not your previous platform, disable the subscription widget on your previous app.
Give Collaborator Access to Subi
Share your store’s collaborator access code with our team so we can manage the migration directly.
Step 3: Data Preparation
You’ll need to export your subscription data from your current platform. This step might seem tricky, but we’re here to guide you through it:
Prepare Your Data
Depending on which platform you're migrating from, you’ll need to follow specific instructions to export your data:
If you're migrating from Recharge, follow this guide to prepare your data.
If you're migrating from another platform (e.g., Bold, Stay AI, Appstle, etc.), follow this guide to export your data.
Deliver Your Data to Subi
After validating your data, reply to our initial email with your files. This allows us to begin preparing your subscription data for migration.
If you’re unsure about any part of the export process, don’t worry – we’ll help you review and finalize everything during our migration meeting.
Note: Please follow the ‘Pre-Migration Preparation’ before exporting your data to avoid acquiring new customers from your previous subscription provider during the migration process. Then, you can begin the exporting process. This way, you won’t have to worry about the exports not being up to date.
Step 4: Running the Migration
Once you’ve sent the exports and completed the pre-migration preparation, our migration team will begin the process. The entire migration process typically takes up to two business days, starting from the receipt of a ready-to-use export. We’ll keep you updated on progress throughout.
Step 5: Wrapping Things Up
After the migration is complete, there are a few final steps to ensure everything is functioning smoothly on Subi:
Check Your Migrated Subscriptions on Subi
After the migration, review your subscriptions within Subi to ensure everything transferred correctly.
Cancel All Your Subscriptions on Your Previous App
Make sure to cancel all active subscriptions on your previous platform. This step prevents any overlap or double-billing issues for your customers.
Uninstall Your Previous Subscription App
Once everything is up and running on Subi, we recommend uninstalling your previous subscription app. Some apps can still read other apps’ selling plans, which could interfere with your new Subi setup.
And there you have it – the entire migration process, step by step. We know that moving platforms can feel overwhelming, but rest assured, we’re here to help at every stage. If you ever have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re just an email away.
Welcome to Subi Subscriptions! 🎉
