How to Add a User to Your Organization (Client or Team Member)

Add your team members

Updated this week

If you’re an agency or company using Taplio, you can invite clients or team members into your organization. This allows you to manage their LinkedIn account directly, under your subscription and billing.

Step 1 — Invite the User

  1. Go to Account settings > Team & Permissions (only admins can invite).

  2. Click Invite User.

  3. Enter the user’s email address (the one they’ll use to log into Taplio).

  4. Send the invitation.

👉 The user will appear in your organization dashboard with status Pending.

👉 The invitation automatically adds a subscription seat under your organization’s billing.

Step 2 — User Accepts the Invitation

  1. The invited user receives an email invitation to join your organization.

  2. They click the invite link and sign up (Google login or email).

  3. They will see a message confirming the organization invite and must click Join organization.

⚠️ Important: The customer must share their LinkedIn account with the organization. This is the only way you can manage their LinkedIn activity.

Step 3 — Install the Taplio Chrome Extension

  1. After joining, the user is guided through a simplified onboarding (no paywall, no plan selection).

  2. They are prompted to install the Taplio Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store.

    • Works on all Chromium browsers: Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, Arc, etc.

    • To manage multiple LinkedIn accounts on one computer, use separate Chrome profiles or tools like Gologin.

  3. Once installed, pin the extension for quick access.

Step 4 — Connect LinkedIn

  1. The user opens LinkedIn in a new tab and logs in.

  2. Return to the Taplio onboarding page.

  3. Confirm the LinkedIn connection (confetti 🎉).

The AI will fetch some profile data to get started. The user can edit this anytime.

Step 5 — Confirmation

  • On your Organization dashboard, the user’s status changes from Pending to Active.

  • You can now switch into their profile and perform any allowed actions on their behalf.

Special Case: Agency Has Client’s LinkedIn Credentials

In some cases, the agency manages setup directly because they already have the client’s LinkedIn credentials.

Here’s how to handle this scenario safely:

  1. Use a dedicated Chrome profile (or a multi-user browser like Gologin) for the client’s account.

    • This avoids conflicts between the client’s LinkedIn session and other accounts on your machine.

  2. Invite an email address you control into the organization:

    • Example: if your agency uses Gmail, you can create an alias like client+clientname@agency.com.

    • Send the Taplio invite to this alias.

  3. Accept the invite using the alias account and complete onboarding:

    • Install the Taplio extension in the dedicated browser profile.

    • Log into the client’s LinkedIn account inside that profile.

    • Connect LinkedIn during onboarding.

  4. Result: The client’s LinkedIn is now connected to your organization, fully under your management.

⚠️ Always keep each client in a separate browser profile to prevent LinkedIn session conflicts.

✅ That’s it! Your client or team member is now connected under your organization.
