Welcome to Unum Behavioral Health! We are glad you are here, and we are committed to help you improve your mental health. This article will give you tips on how to get the most value out of the Unum Behavioral Health application by explaining how to get started with each resource housed within it.

  • Your first step is to click "Get Started" on your Unum Behavioral Health homepage, and select the topics you are interested in.

  • Next, the app will ask you to take the support navigator to determine which behavioral health pathway is best suited for you and your unique situation. To do this, click "Start my support navigator," and answer the prompted questions. Once completed, the app will provide you with your recommended support plan.

  • Click on "Accept My Recommendation" to learn more about the personalized support plan recommended based on your answers to the support navigator prompts. You can learn about each support plan option here.

It's important to note that your support plan will expire 14 days from when you complete the support navigator because we want to make sure your support path is based on your most current health data. If you aren't able to accept the recommendation within 14 days, you will be asked to retake the support navigator.

  • Click "How are you?" in the section on your dashboard titled "A Moment to Reflect" to track your mood and energy levels and create journal entries. You will be able to view trends within your mood and energy levels as you progress through your recommended support plan. Your journal entries will help you reflect on your learnings and reinforce the material within your support plan.

  • There are hundreds of articles, videos, audio clips, webinars and courses available as resources to you within the Unum Behavioral Health app. To view these resources, click "View More" under the Recommended Resources on your dashboard. You can sort the resources by several filters including "My Interests," "Supporting Others," "Self Care," and "Mindfulness." You can also sort by media type (article, video, audio clip, webinar and course) to view only what you're interested in.

You can also add any of the resources to your favorites so you can easily revisit them.

Do that by clicking "Add to Favorites" under the resource. You can view all of your

favorites by clicking on "My Interests" on the top banner of your dashboard, and

scrolling down to "My Favorites." All of the articles you've added to your favorites will be housed there.

  • Unum Behavioral Health provides you with free access to Iona Mind, a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy app that will help you learn the skills to deal with anxiety, worry, stress and low mood. Through the app, you’ll learn evidence-based skills, practice them, and track your progress to achieve your goals. To learn more about Iona Mind and see how to download the app, click on "My Support Plan" at the top of your Behavioral Health dashboard, then click on "Learn More" under Iona Mind.

  • The Parent Hub is a great resource for parents who are concerned about the mental well-being of their children. There are trainings, articles, tips and tools created by The National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH) for parents and caregivers to better understand their children's mental health and to care for themselves as they support their children. You can access the Parent Hub by clicking on "Parent Hub" on the top right hand of your dashboard.

We hope you are able to utilize each resource housed within the Unum Behavioral Health app! If you are experiencing difficulty with the app or have any questions about Unum Behavioral Health, please reach out to BHUserSupport@UNUM.COM and we would be happy to assist you!
