Power button
Power On: Press and hold the power button until the LED indicator lights up.
Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the shutdown menu appears, then select "Power off."
Restart: Press and hold the power button until the shutdown menu appears, then select "Restart."
Touchpad (disabled by default)
Swipe Up: Navigate up through menus or increase volume.
Swipe Down: Navigate down through menus or decrease volume.
Swipe Left: Move left through options or go back.
Swipe Right: Move right through options or select.
Tap: Select an item or confirm an action.
Double Tap: Open the app menu or multitasking menu.
Voice commands
Activate Voice Control: Say "Hello Vuzix" to initiate voice command mode.
Navigate with Voice: Use commands like "Open [App Name]" to open apps or "Navigate to [Feature]" to move through the interface.
Tips for using the buttons
Power Management: Use the power button to quickly pause the device power states. Remember to fully power off the device if it won't be used for extended periods.
Touchpad Sensitivity: The touchpad is sensitive and can be used for precise navigation. Familiarise yourself with the gestures to improve efficiency.
Voice Commands: Enable voice commands in settings to utilise hands-free operation, especially useful in environments where manual navigation is impractical.
How to 'pause' the smart glass
Added Value: Pause the stream during routine tasks or breaks to focus on moments that provide meaningful learning for students.
Save Battery: Use the pause function to conserve battery life when the stream is not needed.
Pausing the Video Stream
Locate the round power button on the side of your smart glasses.
Press the button once to pause the video stream.
You will notice the stream pause immediately, confirming the action.
Restarting the Video Stream
Once the stream is paused, press the round button once again.
The stream will restart, and you can resume your session seamlessly.
Steps for opening an App
Note: When the VCE™ Smart Glass is powered on, the Smart Glass should be in scanning mode. If it is not, please open the app as described below.
Access the main menu
Once the device is on, you will be in the main interface. If you are not already in the main menu, you can get there by swiping down on the touchpad to reveal the navigation options.Navigate to the Apps Menu
Swipe forward or backward on the touchpad to cycle through the available options until you find the "Apps" menu.
Alternatively, you can use voice commands by saying “Open Apps” if voice control is enabled.Open the Apps Menu
Tap on the touchpad to select the "Apps" menu. This will display all the apps installed on your VCE™ Smart Glass.Find the ‘VCE’ App
Swipe forward or backward on the touchpad to scroll through the list of installed apps until you find the app you want to open.Select the App
Once you locate the app, tap on the touchpad to select and open it.
If you have voice control enabled, you can also say “Open [App Name]” to directly launch the app.
