How to sign in for the first time

Accept your invitation, set up your sign-in details, and understand where ASR takes you first.

ASR accounts are created by invitation, so your first step is an email from us. Here's what to expect.

1. Find your invitation email

Your administrator invites you by email. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder first, then ask them to resend it — they can do that from their settings.

2. Accept the invitation

Click the link in the email. You'll land on a page headed Accept Your Invitation, and you'll be asked to set up your sign-in details.

The available sign-in methods depend on how your organisation is set up — usually an email address and password. If your organisation uses single sign-on, you'll see that option instead and can sign in with your existing work account.

While ASR finishes setting things up you may briefly see Processing Invitation... and Finalizing Your Account.... When it's done you'll see Welcome to the Team! and be taken into the app.

If you're asked to verify your email

Look for the verification email, click the link in it, then choose I've Verified My Email. If nothing seems to happen, Check Again re-checks.

If the invitation doesn't work

Occasionally the link is opened before your account is fully ready. Choose Try Again, which retries a few times. If it still fails, choose Go to Login and sign in normally — your account may already exist. Failing that, ask your administrator to send a fresh invitation, as invitations do expire.

3. Signing in from then on

Go to your ASR address and you'll get the sign-in page. Enter the details you set up when you accepted the invitation.

Forgotten your password? Use the reset option on the sign-in page. ASR emails you a link — we can't see or set your password for you.

What you'll see first

ASR takes you to the screen that suits your role, so don't be surprised if a colleague lands somewhere different:

  • Most people at a client organisation land on Work — today's checks and your open actions.

  • Auditors land on Assignments — the audits they've been asked to carry out.

  • Some administrators land on Reporting — the performance dashboard.

You can always get back to your starting point by clicking the ASR logo in the top left.

The "What's new" message

The first time you sign in on a computer, a short message may open explaining recent changes to the menus. Choose Got it, let's go! to close it. You can reopen it any time using the sparkles button in the top bar, labelled What's new.

Cookies

You'll be asked about analytics cookies on your first visit. Choose Accept analytics cookies or Decline — declining doesn't limit anything you can do in ASR.

Signing out

Click your name or picture at the top right and choose Log out. Worth doing on shared devices such as a site tablet.

Common problems

  • "You're not linked to an organisation yet" — your account exists but isn't attached to an organisation. Choose Refresh, and if that doesn't fix it, ask your administrator to check your invitation was accepted.

  • You can sign in but can't see any sites — you probably haven't been assigned to any yet. Your administrator can do this in their settings.

  • You're sent back to the sign-in page repeatedly — your session has expired. Sign in again, and if it keeps happening, try a different browser or clear your cookies for the site.
