Reinstatement eligibility is based on the credential cancellation date, not only the membership expiration date.
Your available options depend on how long ago your credential was canceled.
If Your Credential Was Canceled Less Than One Year Ago
If your credential was canceled less than one year ago, you may be able to submit a reinstatement request through your AAPC account.
To look for the reinstatement option:
Log in to your AAPC account.
Click your name in the upper-right corner.
Select Overview.
Look for the Credential Reinstatement Request or reinstatement calculator option.
Review the instructions and submit your request.
If the reinstatement option does not appear, contact AAPC Support for assistance.
If Your Credential Was Canceled Between One and Three Years Ago
If your credential was canceled between one and three years ago, reinstatement may still be available, but additional review may be required.
Submit a reinstatement request or contact AAPC Support for guidance. AAPC will review your account and provide instructions by email.
Do not assume your requirements are complete until you receive confirmation from AAPC.
If Your Credential Was Canceled More Than Three Years Ago
If your credential was canceled more than three years ago, reinstatement may no longer be available and retesting may be required.
An active AAPC membership is required to sit for a certification exam.
