Understanding AAPC Unlimited Exam Attempts
AAPC Unlimited Exam Attempts may be available as part of select qualifying training package promotions. This benefit allows eligible students to request additional certification exam attempts during the eligible period if they do not pass their included exam attempt.
Unlimited Exam Attempts are not the same as a standard exam voucher. Eligibility depends on the training package purchased, course completion status, and the terms of the promotion.
Who Qualifies for Unlimited Exam Attempts?
To qualify, you must have purchased a qualifying training package during an Unlimited Exam Attempts promotion.
Qualifying packages may include select versions of:
CPC Self-Paced Max, Instructor-Led, or Job-Ready Training
CPB Self-Paced Max or Instructor-Led Training
CPC + CPB Self-Paced Max, Instructor-Led, or Job-Ready Training
CRC Self-Paced Max or Instructor-Led Training
CIC Self-Paced Max or Instructor-Led Training
COC Self-Paced Max or Instructor-Led Training
Eligibility may vary by promotion. Review the terms provided at the time of purchase or contact AAPC Support if you are unsure whether your package qualifies.
What Must I Complete Before Requesting Additional Attempts?
Before additional exam attempts can be issued, you must complete the required training course in full and receive your certificate of completion.
If your package included an initial exam attempt, you must use that attempt first. If you do not pass, you may then request an additional exam attempt if you meet the Unlimited Exam Attempts requirements.
How Long Are Unlimited Exam Attempts Available?
Unlimited Exam Attempts are available for 12 months after the training course is completed.
Unlimited Exam Attempts cannot be extended after the 12-month eligibility period expires.
How Do I Request Another Exam Attempt?
Additional exam attempts must be requested through AAPC’s Unlimited Exam Attempts request process.
After submitting your request, allow time for processing before the next voucher is available. If your request is approved, AAPC will issue the next eligible exam attempt.
Can I Have More Than One Active Voucher at a Time?
Additional attempts are requested one at a time. If you need another attempt after an unsuccessful exam, submit a new request through the Unlimited Exam Attempts process.
What Happens If I Miss My Scheduled Exam?
If you do not appear for a scheduled exam, your Unlimited Exam Attempts status may be forfeited.
Each scheduled attempt must be completed. Missing an exam appointment, failing to meet exam-day requirements, or not completing the scheduled exam may affect your eligibility for additional attempts.
Can Unlimited Exam Attempts Be Extended?
No. Unlimited Exam Attempts cannot be extended after the eligible period expires.
If you need more time, review your options before the eligibility period ends.
Are Retake Exams the Same as Previous Attempts?
Each exam retake may contain different questions. This helps ensure that competency is demonstrated on each attempt.
Can Unlimited Exam Attempts Be Revoked?
AAPC may revoke Unlimited Exam Attempts if fraudulent activity is observed or if program requirements are not followed.
Is This Available Outside the United States?
Unlimited Exam Attempts are available to students in the United States only.
