What Books and Materials Can I Use for My AAPC Exam?

Allowed exam materials depend on the exam you are taking and the reference option selected when scheduling.

For many coding exams, candidates may use approved printed coding books or the eBook references provided in the exam platform, depending on the option selected during scheduling.

If using printed books, only approved reference materials are permitted. Photocopies of coding manuals are not allowed. Books may not be taken apart or placed into a separate binder.

Only the current year or the previous year coding manuals may be used for applicable exams. Older coding manuals are not permitted.
