Overview of the AAPC Hardship Fund
The AAPC Hardship Fund is designed to assist qualifying members experiencing financial hardship. The program may provide assistance to help members maintain their membership or certification and access eligible AAPC products and services. Applications are reviewed by the AAPC Hardship Fund Committee.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered for assistance, applicants generally must:
Be an AAPC member in good standing.
Have been an AAPC member for at least 12 months.
Demonstrate a financial hardship.
Show that other avenues of assistance have been exhausted.
What Can the Hardship Fund Help Cover?
The Hardship Fund may be used for eligible AAPC products and services, including:
Membership and certification-related expenses.
AAPC-sponsored educational programs and events.
Other approved AAPC products and services.
What Is Not Covered?
The Hardship Fund does not cover travel or hotel expenses related to conferences or events. Applicants should explain how those expenses will be managed independently when requesting event assistance.
How Do I Apply?
Log in to your AAPC account.
Navigate to MyAAPC > Local Chapter > Resources.
Locate the Hardship Fund section.
Select the Applying link.
Complete and submit the application.
When Will I Receive a Decision?
The Hardship Fund Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month to review applications. Applicants are typically notified by email within approximately one week after the review meeting.
Additional Information
Hardship Fund awards must generally be used within three months of being granted. If funding becomes unavailable, new applications may be temporarily suspended until funds become available again.
