ICD-10-CM MS-DRG Grouper

The ICD-10-CM MS-DRG Grouper is a helpful tool for inpatient facility coding and reimbursement. It is built on the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) rules, which are used to determine payment for inpatient services. This tool is located under the 'Coding Tools' tab on our website.

To use the MS-DRG Grouper, simply enter an ICD-10-CM principal diagnosis code, as well as any secondary diagnosis codes and procedure codes, in the designated boxes. You can click the "Add More" links to bring up additional boxes if needed. This tool also includes an integrated DRG Payment Calculator, which defaults to the National Unadjusted rate. However, users have the option to enter the name or hospital provider number/CCN to see the payment calculation calibrated for any hospital in the USA.

To see the results, click the "Group" button. The results will show the assigned MS-DRG and the corresponding payment. You can also print the results by clicking the "Print" button.
