Change many prices at once with the correct price list and a controlled product selection.
This guide applies to store administrators in Go, Plus, and Pro. It describes regular prices and sale prices in Abicart. Customer group prices, sub-stores, and prices controlled by an ERP system need to be checked separately; a manual change could otherwise affect the wrong price or be overwritten during the next synchronization.
1. Choose the right type of change and save the original
Campaign/sale price: keep the regular price and enter a separate lower price.
Changed regular price: use the percentage tool in the correct regular price list.
Note the product selection, currencies, and current prices before the change. Under Catalogue → Pricing you can copy a price list. Keep the original unchanged and give the working copy a clear name. A copy does not automatically replace the store's active list; check the connection under Usage when it is to be used. Check the regular price and sale price respectively, and the correct store or customer group.
2. Set sale price for selected products
This method calculates a discount from the regular price, not from an existing sale price. For example, the value 20 results in 80 if the regular price is 100. An existing sale price for a selected product can be replaced. Therefore, exclude products that should not be changed before you save; the operation does not automatically leave previous offers untouched.
When advertising price reductions to consumers in Sweden, show the lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction for goods covered by these rules. Calculate any advertised percentage or amount reduction from that price. The tool calculates from the regular price, so check the advertised discount and displayed reference price before the campaign.
In Enter the discount percentage based on the regular price, enter the discount without a minus sign, for example 20. The minus sign in −20 is used in the separate tool for changing existing price rows. In the discount action, 0 removes the sale price.
Go to Catalogue → Products and select the products to be changed. Check the number of products and any additional pages in the listing.
Open Perform action on the selected.
Select Additional operations and then Set discount percentage based on regular price.
Enter the discount percentage, for example 20 for a 20% lower price, and save.
0 removes the sale price for the selected products. This is not the same as making the product free, and it does not restore a previous campaign price. Do not use 0 when you want to keep an existing sale price.
If a sale price list is missing
Check Catalogue → Pricing → Usage. Select an intended list for Sale price for the correct store, without accidentally changing the regular price list. Review the list's contents before connecting it to the store.
3. Increase or decrease prices in a selected price list
The percentage tool changes existing price rows in the list you open. It does not automatically create a campaign discount calculated from another list. Use a copy when the prices need to be restorable.
Go to Catalogue → Pricing and open the correct list. Search for the products, for example using the product group filter.
Open Tools.
Select the percentage-change action: Tillämpa procentuell ändring / Apply percentage change to prices.
Enter the change for each affected currency: −20 lowers an existing price by 20%, while 10 increases it by 10%. Leave currencies that should not be changed empty. Check the rounding; the tool rounds up according to the selected precision.
Select Only apply to prices in current filter selection when only the filtered selection should be changed. Without this limitation, other price rows in the list may also be affected.
Check the selections and select Apply change.
4. Check and restore safely
Check a few products with and without previous sale prices, affected currencies, and any variants, both in the administration and in the store. Also check as a logged-in customer if customer group prices are used. A change to the base product's price is not proof that all variants' own prices have been changed.
Restore from documented original prices or the saved price list. Lowering 100 to 50 with −50% and then increasing it by +50% results in 75, not 100. Rounding can also make a mathematical recalculation uncertain. In case of interruption: read the actual prices before running the tool again; a repeated percentage increase can change them further.
A scheduled price list switch can change which list is used and revert when the period expires. Check the start, end, which usage is changed, and which list is restored. A global switch does not automatically change separate customer group connections. Do not delete lists needed for restoration.
Quick start
Choose sale price or regular price and save the original prices.
Check the product selection, price list, currency, and usage connection.
Make the intended change and review the result before widespread use.
Check the store price and restore from the original when the campaign is over.
Subscription
Basic product prices and sale prices are available in Go, Plus, and Pro. Customer groups, multi-shop, and ERP integrations have their own subscription and contract terms. Check the feature that will be used in addition to the standard pricing.
