Inside an Accentify lesson
Accentify lessons are designed to help you build an accent step by step.
Each course is broken down into smaller parts, so you can focus on one sound, feature, or pronunciation pattern at a time instead of trying to change everything at once.
How courses are structured
Accentify courses are organised like this:
Units
Units group together a wider topic or pronunciation area.
Levels
Each unit contains levels that break that topic down into smaller, manageable steps.
Questions
Each level contains individual questions and exercises that help you hear, understand, and produce the accent feature you’re working on.
This structure helps you improve gradually and build confidence as you go.
How to move through a course
Once you tap into a course, you’ll see the course details and your progress area.
From there, tap Get Started or In Progress to launch the course.
You can tap into available levels, see where you are in the course, and continue from where you left off.
As you progress, more levels unlock and your roadmap fills out over time.
What you’ll do inside a lesson
Accentify lessons include a mix of question types to help you build both your speaking and listening skills.
Most courses focus heavily on speaking practice, but there is a lot of variety, so you get a more thorough understanding of the accent as you go.
Listen and learn
Some questions introduce a sound, accent feature, or pronunciation rule before asking you to practise it.
These short explainers help you understand what to listen for before you start speaking.
Listen and repeat
You may hear a word, phrase, or sentence and then repeat it yourself.
These exercises are designed for self-study, which means they are not assessed live or instantly during the lesson. They help you build confidence by practising rhythm, sound placement, and pronunciation at your own pace.
If you’d like feedback on an eligible self-study recording, you can upgrade it with in-app gold 🪙 and send it to a professional accent coach for detailed review.
To access this, go to:
Your Progress → Self Study → Get Expert Feedback

Voice assessment
Some speaking tasks are built to assess your accent and pronunciation more directly.
When you reach one of these questions, tap the record button and say the word, phrase, or sentence shown on screen.
Accentify will analyse your submission and provide instant feedback to help you understand how you’re doing.
This feedback is available to all users, including free users.
👑 Premium users also get unlimited free upgrades on eligible submissions, allowing them to receive detailed, personalised feedback from a professional accent coach.
When new feedback is ready, Accentify will show it through the Coach Feedback area, in-app notifications, and push notifications if enabled.
On the left below is an example of feedback a free user would receive.
On the right is what a 👑 Premium user would receive.
Ear training
Some questions are designed to build your listening skills.
You may hear different speakers and identify which accent they’re using, or listen for a specific feature like rhoticity or a particular “r” sound.
These exercises help train your ear so you can recognise the details that make accents and sound patterns different.
Expect variety
There are plenty of question types across Accentify, and we’ll continue updating courses as we grow, improve, and learn more from our users.
That means you may see new lesson formats appear over time.
👀 Keep an eye out:
Accentify courses are always evolving, so you may notice new question types and updated lesson formats as we expand the app.
Use the 'Coach Feedback' area
Accentify keeps your recordings organised in the Coach Feedback area, so you can come back to past submissions, review your progress, and access feedback in one place.
From the home screen, tap Coach Feedback to see your courses, your progress, and any new feedback waiting for you. You can also find this by clicking on Your Progress on each individual course.
If new feedback is available, you may also see red notification bubbles showing which course it belongs to and how many updates are waiting.
Inside Coach Feedback, you may see different sections depending on the type of recording.
Feedback Zone
This is where you can review your voice assessment submissions and see the feedback linked to them.
It’s useful for revisiting past recordings, tracking your progress, and spotting where you’re improving.
You can also re-record and re-submit directly from here, making it easy to keep refining your accent and receive updated feedback from professional accent coaches on eligible submissions.
When new feedback is ready, Accentify may also notify you through in-app notifications and push notifications if these are enabled on your device.
Self-Study
This is where your listen and repeat practice recordings are stored.
These exercises are designed for self-study, so they are not assessed instantly during the lesson. But eligible recordings can be upgraded later if you want expert feedback from a professional accent coach.
To do that, open:
Your Progress → Self-Study → Get Expert Feedback
If expert feedback is available for that recording, you’ll be able to upgrade it there.
How progress works inside Accentify
As you complete lessons, Accentify tracks your progress across the app and shows you how far you’ve come.
You may see things like:
course progress percentages
stars
streaks
gold
coach feedback notifications
achievements
But progress in Accentify is not just about numbers. You’ll also see end-of-unit reviews and Tify will always be with you to help you reflect on what you’ve done, celebrate wins, and stay encouraged as you keep learning.
End-of-unit reviews
At the end of a level, you may see a review screen showing how you did.
This can include things like:
how many questions you got right
how many stars you earned
rewards such as gold
your next step in the course
This help you quickly understand your performance before moving on.
Motivational screens
Tify is with you throughout your Accentify journey.
As you move through lessons, you may see her appear in motivational screens that celebrate your wins, encourage you after tougher moments, and keep the experience feeling fun and supportive.
She’s there to remind you to keep going — because every step counts, and you’re never doing it alone.
Achievements and badges
Accentify also includes achievements and badges to make progress feel more enjoyable.
As you complete levels, earn stars, and keep going, you may unlock badges, rewards, and milestone screens that reflect the progress you’ve made.
These are designed to make the learning experience feel more fun, motivating, and satisfying over time.
Bonus practice after course completion
When you complete a course, Accentify may unlock bonus practice screens that help you bring everything together.
These review the sounds, vowels, and consonants you’ve learned and give you more chances to practise them through listen-and-repeat exercises.
You may work with:
individual sounds
phonetic features
short sentences
longer sentences
This helps reinforce what you’ve learned and gives you a chance to put the full accent into practice more naturally.
You can also return to the home screen at any time to jump back into your courses, check feedback, or explore other parts of the app.
