Please follow the steps below to create an eChit or Bill Request.

To raise an eChit
From the ALCM home screen, click Matter.
Enter a Matter Number to Search all Matter then click on the spyglass and click on the matter which appears.
Below the matter row, click on the eChit option.
Selecting the Type of echit will then give different fields to be completed. Once relevant fields are populated, click Post.
An E-Chit will then be created and placed on the File History of the matter. Your Accounts team, in Financial Director (FD) will also then be able to check the request and post the E-Chit to the matter ledger card.
You can also raise an E-Chit from within the File History screen of a matter, by selecting e-chit from the 3 grey horizontal bars (with a play sign) on the royal blue banner at the top of the screen.
To raise an Bill Request
From the ALCM home screen, click Matter.
Enter a Matter Number to Search all Matter then click on the spyglass and click on the matter which appears.
Below the matter row, click on the Billing Request option.
You will see that the request has been pre-populated with details from the matter. It is mandatory to add at least one of the following options to your request to enable it to be requested. WIP from Select Time, Add profit Cost, Select Disb, Add Expense or Select Expense.
There are optional fields which can be completed for Bill Addressee and Narrative.
Once all relevant fields are complete, click Post.
A copy of the bill request will then be created and placed on the File History of the matter. Your Accounts team, in Financial Director (FD) will also then be able to check the request and post the bill to the matter ledger card.
