You can manage tasks by going to the Tasks page from the left-hand pane. At the top of the tasks page, you will see and quick overview of how many current tasks there are and how many are overdue.

You can sort tasks by department by selecting the dropdown box at the top right of this page. Departments can be set up in the DPSSQLConfig and are selected at the matter level.

Set up departments

To set up a department you will need to go into the DPSSQLConfig. To do this you will need to have:

  • Access to the DPS Hosted Environment

  • A supervisor profile within Access Legal Case Management

Once you have logged into the Hosted Desktop:

  1. Navigate to the F: Drive and go into the DPSSQL folder.

  2. Within this folder, locate the DPSSQLConfig.

  3. Open the DPSSQLConfig file and log in using your supervisor credentials.

  4. From the top left pane, click Departments to view and edit existing departments or to add or remove another department.

Assign department to matter

Once departments have been set up you can assign these to matters. To view the department that has been assigned to a specific matter:

  1. Go into the matter, then select the Matter button at the top of the screen.
Tip: This is the button which looks like two boxes with a plus sign inside the top one.

  2. In the centre of the screen, view the Department drop-down to see which department has been assigned to this matter. Any tasks associated with this matter will show up on the task screen for this department.

Assign permission to users for tasks

By default, any user with a supervisor profile should be able to view tasks for all departments. This can be removed or added by going into the DPSSQLConfig and viewing the specific user's profile:

  1. Go to Users and Groups and then click Users.

  2. Select the specific user you'd like to view.

  3. To edit the permissions associated with each security profile, click on Security Profiles on the top left. On this screen you can select a security profile that you'd like to amend the permissions for by selecting it from the dropdown at the top.

Tip: The permissions that are associated with Tasks are View All Groups and View All Users in Group.
