When creating a new client or a matter, you'll have the option to run a conflict search once all initial details have been saved. This allows you to search the system to see if any existing clients or matters possess the same details as the ones you have entered.
When you hit Save on the client or matter creation screen, a new screen will pop up. This is the Conflict Search Screen.

  1. Enter the Last name in the top field. This is the mandatory field, however filling out First name, DOB, Postcode and Company will help you narrow down the search.

  2. Tick the Search Matter Details box to search within the matter details.

  3. By default, Include clients with no current matter & closed matters will be ticked.

  4. Click on the magnifying glass icon on the bottom left corner of the screen. This will run the search. Any matches for the conflict search will show in the same window.
Note: The Match column indicates the role of the searched party.

  5. Once you've run the search, click on the X button on the bottom left and then click Yes.

  6. The Conflict search saved screen will show. Click the Ok button.

To see the results of the client conflict search, go into the Client screen and select the Documents tab.
The matter conflict search will appear in the File History for that matter.
