Messaging features give you flexible ways to communicate and manage your conversations. You can format text for emphasis, make changes to messages you've already sent, remove anything shared in error, and use emoji reactions to acknowledge others quickly.

Send messages in bold, italic and strikethrough

You can format your text to highlight key information or add emphasis.

On the web

Use the toolbar buttons B, I and S, or use keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl + B for bold text.

On the mobile app

Use the formatting toolbar or type markdown shortcuts directly into your message:

  • **bold**

  • *italic*

  • ~~strikethrough~~

Edit a message

If you spot a mistake after sending a message, you can edit it. Edited messages display a note and a timestamp beneath them. Updates made today show the time; older edits show the date.

To edit a message, follow the steps:

  1. Hover over the message.

  2. Click the three dots to the left of the message.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Type the new message, then click Save.

Delete a message

You can delete your sent messages if youโ€™ve shared something in error. Deleted messages appear faded with the text 'This message has been deleted'.

To delete a message, follow the steps:

  1. Hover over the message.

  2. Click the three dots to the left of the message.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. To confirm, click Yes, delete.

React to a message

Reactions let you acknowledge a message quickly using emojis.

To react, follow the steps:

  1. Hover over the message.

  2. Click the react icon to the right of the message.

  3. Choose an emoji.
