After receiving a League of Legends or Valorant account, verify that it matches your order, secure the Riot account and email access, and confirm the account's region before you begin playing.
These guidelines cover the steps specific to Riot Games accounts. Complete the general steps in How do I safely use my new account? first, then follow the Riot-specific precautions below.
🔐 Secure your Riot account
Before making changes, log in and make sure you received the correct account.
Check the rank, region, skins or other features that were included in the listing. If something does not match, report it through your AccountShark order before changing the account.
Once everything is correct:
1. Change the Riot account password to something unique. 2. Change the email address to your own when your handoff allows it, and only after you have confirmed the account matches the listing. 3. If email access was included, secure that email account as well. 4. Enable Riot's available multi-factor authentication. 5. Keep your Riot login, email credentials, and recovery information private.
Do not share the account with friends, boosting services, or anyone else who does not need access.
🌎 Check your League or Valorant region
Pay attention to the region listed on the account before you buy it.
League of Legends and Valorant accounts are associated with regional account and game systems, and you should not buy an account in one region assuming you will simply be able to move it to another afterward.
Region transfers and account-region changes depend on the game and Riot's current availability and restrictions.
If playing in a particular region matters to you, buy an account already listed for that region.
🎮 Avoid cheats, scripts, bots, and unauthorized tools
Never use software intended to automate gameplay, provide an unfair advantage, manipulate the game client, or bypass Riot's systems.
That includes:
Cheats and hacks
League scripting software
Bots and automated gameplay
Unauthorized macros or automation
Valorant cheat software
Programs designed to interfere with or bypass Riot Vanguard
Valorant uses Riot Vanguard, its anti-cheat system, and cheating can result in serious account and potentially hardware-related enforcement.
Not every third-party application or overlay is prohibited, so there is no reason to treat ordinary legitimate software as automatically unsafe. The problem is software that violates Riot's rules, automates gameplay, provides prohibited advantages, or interferes with the game or its anti-cheat systems.
If you are unsure about a program, do not test it on an account you just purchased.
⚠️ Avoid unnecessary security flags
A newly delivered Riot account may be signing in from a different device, network, or location than it did previously.
Keep the initial handoff simple:
Use your normal device and internet connection.
Avoid immediately signing in from several different devices or locations.
Do not share the login with multiple people.
Complete the security changes you actually need rather than repeatedly changing account information.
Avoid unnecessary attempts to change the account's region through Riot Support immediately after purchase.
A security verification prompt does not necessarily mean the account has been banned or reclaimed. Follow the instructions shown on the account and contact AccountShark through your order if you cannot complete them with the access you received.
💳 Remove old payment methods
Check the account for saved payment methods belonging to the previous owner and remove anything that is not yours before making purchases of your own. A leftover card can be charged accidentally, and if the cardholder later disputes that charge it becomes your problem on an account you now own.
🛡️ Protect your account after the handoff
Once the Riot account and its email are under your control, treat them like any other account you care about.
Use unique passwords, keep multi-factor authentication enabled, never reuse or share credentials, and avoid software or behavior that puts the account at unnecessary risk.
AccountShark's account warranty does not cover restrictions or bans caused by your own cheating, botting, prohibited software, or other activity after delivery.
