There are many ways to conduct a search in Acelab and save the results. Acelab arranges the results for searches into 3 categories: products, brands, or resources. Products are items like windows, doors, waterproofing, etc. Think of this more as your MasterFormat way of thinking. Brands are the manufacturers, the people that make the products. Resources means all of Acelab's great educational resources.
One other thing to note is that with Acelab, when searching for products, most of the time you will be put into our product quizzes. This helps target your search. These quizzes are created with a team of experts around the country who set up parameters guided by the CSI MasterFormat. Each product you are searching for will have a tailored quiz to help you find the best product for your project and allow you to focus on the design requirements that matter most to the project.
From the Home Screen
From the Home Screen, go to the search bar.
First, select which product category you are looking for, whether that is products, brands, or resources. Then begin typing in the letters of the item you are looking for.
If you are searching for products, then the next step will be a product quiz in the category you are searching for to narrow down the results further and ensure that Acelab is delivering targeted search results based on your requirements.
Alternatively, if you are unsure what specific item you are looking for, you can select 'Browse all Products'.
Browse all Products
Browsing all products is a great way to search for products only. you can enter the category you are looking for such as 'Windows' and/or you can begin typing in the MasterFormat numbers.
If you are more of a visual learner or you simply love an axonometric drawing, scroll down through the category tiles, arranged by CSI division, and find the one you want to investigate further.
📚 Note: Searching from this tab will only surface building products. Resources and brands will not show when searching from this tab.
From the Top Search Bar
Once you are off the home page, there is a search bar at the top of the other pages.
In this search bar, like the one on the homepage, will need to select whether you are looking for a Product, Brand, or Resource and then begin typing in the item you are looking for. The default search is set to products.
From the Sub-Header
There is one other way to search and that is from the Sub-Header that shows on pages that are not the home page.
If Products is selected here, then a pop-up will show asking for which division you are looking for. Selecting a division will put you into a product quiz.
If Manufacturers is selected, it will take you to the Manufacturers page, where you can then see all the manufacturers that are on the website. The default view will show manufacturers arranged by Alphabetical order across all divisions. To narrow down the manufacturers, select the division on the left.
Resources and Guides will take you to the amazing resources that Acelab provides. These are fantastic to share with your firm or your classroom.
The Articles tab will take you to all the great articles, written by AEC experts, to help you deepen your material research and knowledge.
