Understanding Aliases: Connecting External IDs with Acenda for Seamless Marketplace Integration

Aliases enable the existence of multiple identifiers (IDs), such as a SKU, for a single product. If your product has an ID external to Acenda that differs from its Acenda ID, entering it as an alias will connect that external ID to the Acenda ID and product. This allows the Acenda ID to be used or changed without losing any connections with the external ID. You can then use the external ID (alias) for specific marketplaces while using the Acenda ID for all other marketplaces.

Creating an Alias Manually

To create an alias for a single product, follow these steps:

  1. On the sidebar under Data Management, click Items.

  2. Search for the desired product by name or ID and click View to its right.

  3. Click the Aliases tab.

  4. Click Add New Alias.

  5. Select the subscription (marketplace or other integration) you wish to use the alias for from the dropdown menu.

  6. Enter the external IDs (aliases) in their respective fields. Note: Acenda currently only supports SKU aliases.

  7. Click Add.

Importing Aliases in Bulk

You can also add or update aliases for many products at once using the "SKU Presentation" import model.

To import aliases in bulk:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Import/Export.

  2. Select the import type SKU Presentation.

  3. Upload your formatted file to import the aliases.

Note: To get the correct file format for this import, we recommend first exporting the existing data. To do this, go to Admin > Import/Export, click the Export tab, and select the SKU Presentation export type. The downloaded file will provide the exact format you should use for your import file.
