How to Set an Inventory Floor for a Marketplace

What is the Inventory Floor setting, and how do I use it?

The Inventory Floor is a safeguard feature that prevents overselling. It acts as a "safety stock" or buffer by withholding a specific number of units from the inventory count sent to the marketplace.

When you set an Inventory Floor, the system subtracts that number from your total available stock before pushing data to the sales channel. This ensures you always keep the last few units in reserve to account for damaged goods or warehouse discrepancies.

How the Calculation Works

The system applies a simple logic:

Published Quantity = Actual Quantity - Inventory Floor

If your actual inventory drops to match or go below the floor number, the system sends a quantity of "0" to the marketplace. This effectively hides the product to prevent further orders.

Example: Setting an Inventory Floor of 2

  • Scenario A: You have 10 units in the warehouse. Calculation: 10 - 2 = 8.

Result: The marketplace displays 8 units for sale.

  • Scenario B: You have 3 units in the warehouse. Calculation: 3 - 2 = 1.

Result: The marketplace displays 1 unit for sale.

  • Scenario C: You have 2 units (or fewer) in the warehouse. Calculation: 2 - 2 = 0. Result: The marketplace displays 0 (Out of Stock).

How to Configure Your Inventory Floor

Follow these steps to set the inventory floor for a specific marketplace:

  1. Access Integrations: Log in to your Acenda Admin panel and navigate to "Integration" in the main menu.

  2. Select Marketplace: Choose the specific integration you want to edit (e.g., Target+, Amazon, Walmart).

  3. Open Settings: Click on the "Settings" tab on the integration's configuration page.

  4. Locate Functionality Control: Scroll down to the section labeled "Functionality Control."

  5. Enter Value: Find the "Inventory Floor" field. Enter a whole number greater than 0 (e.g., 2, 5, or 10).

  6. Save: Click Save to apply the changes.

Important Note

This setting is unique to each integration. Setting a floor for one marketplace (like Target+) does not automatically apply it to others (like Amazon). You must configure the floor separately for every integration where you want a safety buffer.
