Resolving Target+ Error: DATA_VALIDATION (Barcode Released After 60 Days)

If you are a Target+ partner using Acenda, you may occasionally encounter a validation error when attempting to sync or update certain listings.

The Error Message

DATA_VALIDATION: This item was unlisted previously; Barcode released after 60 days from that previous unlist/last order date

Why Did This Happen?

To maintain a clean and optimized marketplace, Target+ automatically unlists items that have had no sales or zero inventory for extended periods. Once an item has been unlisted for 60 days from the last order date, Target releases the barcode from their active registry.

If you try to push the product back to Target+ without changing its data, their system recognizes the old barcode but blocks it under this automated cleanup rule.

How to Fix It

To resolve this error, you need to force Target+ to re-evaluate and reprocess the item. The most effective way to trigger this is by making a minor stylistic change to the product description.

You can make this change using one of two methods:

Method 1: Manually in the Acenda Admin

  1. Log in to your Acenda Admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to your product catalog and locate the affected item.

  3. Edit the Product Description. You only need to make a small edit—such as adding a word, slightly adjusting a sentence, or fixing a minor grammatical element.

  4. Save your changes.

Method 2: In Bulk via the Import/Export Tool

If you have multiple items facing this error, you can update them all at once:

  1. Navigate to the Import/Export section in Acenda.

  2. Export your Target+ product catalog (ensuring the Product Description field is included).

  3. Open the file and make minor textual updates to the descriptions of the affected SKUs.

  4. Re-import the updated file back into Acenda.

What to Expect Next

Once the updated descriptions are saved and submitted, Acenda will push the fresh data to Target+. Please allow up to one business day for Target+ to fully reprocess, validate, and reinstate your listings on their store.
