Comprehensive Guide to Managing Product Channel Mapping

Efficiently control how your products are listed across various sales channels (Amazon, Walmart, etc.) using either the Acenda Admin interface for individual adjustments or the Import Tool for bulk updates.

🎥 Video Tutorial: Watch how to manage channel mappings

Method 1: Direct Management (Single Product)

Use this method to manage settings for a specific product without needing spreadsheets.

  1. Locate Your Product

    • Navigate to Items in the sidebar.

    • Search for and select the product you wish to manage to open its details page.

  2. Open Channel Settings

    • Click on the Channel Mapping tab (sometimes labeled Sales Channel Settings or Syndication).

  3. Edit Specific Channel

    • You will see a list of your connected subscriptions. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) next to the specific channel you want to change.

  4. Adjust Settings

    • Change the Listing Action (see definitions below) or update the posting template.

    • Note: You can repeat this for each channel to apply different settings to the same product across different marketplaces.

  5. Save

    • Click Update to apply your changes.

Method 2: Bulk Management (Import Tool)

Use this method to map new products or update existing ones in bulk using a CSV file.

Step 1: Prepare the Export

  1. Go to Data Management > Import/Export.

  2. Select the Exports tab.

  3. Click + New Export, choose Channel Item Mapping, and click Export.

  4. Download and open the CSV file.

Step 2: Clean and Configure the File

  • Delete system columns: id, created_at, created_by, updated_at, updated_by, product_id.

  • Product SKU: Ensure your SKUs are listed in the product_sku column.

  • Subscription ID: * Go to Organization > Integrations.

    • Find the ID number to the left of the sales channel name.

    • Enter this in the subscription_id column.

  • Posting Template ID:

    • In Integrations, click Edit next to the marketplace and select the Posting Templates tab.

    • Find the ID number to the left of the template name.

    • Enter this in the posting_template_id column.

  • Listing Action: Enter the desired status in the listing_action column (e.g., FULL, UNLIST).

Tip: To map one SKU to multiple channels, create multiple rows for that SKU, changing only the subscription_id and posting_template_id.

Step 3: Import the File

  1. Save your file as CSV (UTF-8).

  2. Go to the Imports tab in Acenda and click + New Import.

  3. Select Channel Item Mapping.

  4. Upload your file and map the headers.

  5. Crucial: Check the box "Overwrite any records that have the same ID" if you are updating existing mappings.

  6. Click Start Import.

Listing Action Status Definitions

These statuses determine how your product behaves on the marketplace:

  • FULL: Sends the complete product listing content and inventory to the marketplace.

  • ZERO: Sends full product content but forces an inventory level of 0.

    • Use Case 1: Temporarily pause sales without removing the listing entirely.

    • Use Case 2: Review Mode—Load items onto the marketplace to review appearance while keeping the item non-orderable.

  • UNLIST: Removes or deactivates the product listing from the marketplace while the item remains active in your Acenda catalog.

    • Prerequisite: For this action to trigger, the "Enable Item Retirement" setting must be enabled in the specific channel's integration settings.

⚠️ Important Notes on Unlisting

  • Enable Item Retirement: This is a global safety setting. If Enable Item Retirement is not checked under Organization > Integrations > [Your Channel] > Settings, the UNLIST command will be ignored by the system to prevent accidental mass-deletions.

  • Data Integrity: Acenda does not delete items. The UNLIST function removes products from the marketplace while preserving them in Acenda.

  • Timing: UNLIST updates may take up to 24 hours to reflect on the channel.

  • Restoration: Reversing an UNLIST action (restoring it to FULL) is not instantaneous. It may take up to 15 business days for certain channels to fully restore the listing and its historical data.
