AMP If Sale allows you to work offers. The following steps guide you through the process of working an If sale/offer for a vehicle:
1. In AMP, choose Sale --> If Sales from the menu, as shown in Figure 1.
The AMP If Sale main page appears.
2. Search for your vehicle.
A list of matching vehicles appears (see Figure 2). The View button appears next to a vehicle that someone has already started an offer on. If you see the Start button, an offer has not yet been started.
3. To view a specific vehicle, click on the View or Start button.
A timeline view of the vehicle’s sale details appears (see Figure 3).
4. Click on the Start If-Sale or Update Status button.
Note: If someone has already started the offer and you clicked on the Start button in Step 3, you will see the Update Status button instead of the Start If-Sale button (see Figure 4).
A Contact card for the seller or buyer appears (see Figure 5). If the sale has already been started, the contact card will be for the next person to contact. A red asterisk appears next to all required fields.
5. Select the buyer or seller representative from the drop-down list.
If no seller representative is listed, you must enter a name of your contact in the Rep name field.
6. Select the contact method.
Your choices include
Phone call
Text
In person
Email
If you select Email, you have the option to select Send Email or Received Email (see Figure 7). Both methods allow you to update the offer information without contacting the customer again. Selecting the Send email option sends the customer an email that updates them on the offer status. Selecting the Received Email option allows you to capture information you may have received in an email that doesn’t automatically populate to AMP.
7. If applicable, indicate whether you talked to the rep or left a message.
8. Select what action you’d like to take.
Your choices include Accept, Counter, Decline, and No update (see Figure 6).
Accept: If you accept within the time limit, you must acknowledge only the seller. If you accept outside of the time limit, you need to notify both parties.
Counter: When you counter, you’re not accepting the offer but are instead proposing a new one. Make sure you enter a Counter amount. When you counter, you must notify both parties after the final acceptance.
Decline: If an offer has been declined within the time limit, you must notify the opposing party. If the offer is declined outside of the time limit, you need to notify both parties.
No update: This button allows you to record any information without taking any action.
9. (Optional) Add a message in the Note area.
Include any information pertinent to the sale that isn’t already captured, such as the buyer is out of town or the buyer wants to look at the vehicle tomorrow.
10. (Optional) If you don’t want to be automatically prompted to contact the next party, uncheck the Contact Buyer or Contact Seller check box.
11. Click on the Submit button.
The Timeline view updates (see Figure 7). If you didn’t uncheck the Contact Buyer or Contact Seller check box in Step 10, you’re prompted to complete the next communication or action.
Tip: You can enter a comment in the Timeline view by selecting the dots in the ADESA Comment box. Unlike the other actions you see in Timeline view, when you add a comment, your name, date, or time aren’t currently recorded.
