You can’t work an offer if the representative or the account is unauthorized. If you’re unable to move forward in the offer process, then you need to verify the representative’s authorized status in AMP.

Verify authorization using search

You can verify authorization using the search feature:

1. Select the criteria you’d like to search by.

You can search by the customer name or number, the account auction access ID, the representative name, or the representative auction access ID (see Figure 1).

Remember: If you search by the customer number, you will need to complete the AMS number or AA number.

2. Enter the information in the Search field.

Tip: When searching names, you need to enter only three characters to begin searching. For example, if you’re searching for a representative named Charlie, you can type three letters from his name — CHA or LIE, for example.

3. Select your search item from the results that appear.

Verify authorization from the If Sale Timeline view

From the If Sale Timeline view, you can see the sale tile, which contains the Buyer and Seller information. Both the Buyer and Seller have hyperlinks that will take you directly to their information (see Figure 2).

Tip: Any time an account name or representative name appears in ADESA teal, it is a hyperlink that you can click to view additional information.

To verify a representative’s authorized status, follow these steps:

1. From the If Sale Timeline view, click on either the Buyer or Seller hyperlink.

The Customer view appears.

2. In the Options section, click on Show more to see additional details regarding the account (see Figure 3).

In the Buyer and Seller fields, you will see whether the account is authorized (see Figure 4).

View representative authorizations

In Customer view, click on the representative whose accounts you want to see the authorization status for (see Figure 5).

The authorization status for any accounts they represent appears (see Figure 6).

Get help with unauthorized accounts

If the issue can’t be resolved, you may work with and choose a different representative to resolve the offer. If the representative is unauthorized or there are no representatives, please contact your dealer registration department to help resolve the issue. If the account is unauthorized, you may need to work with both your dealer registration and management to resolve the issue. This is the case for both buyers and sellers.
