The Receive Vehicle feature allows you to receive a vehicle when it arrives, but the vehicle won’t be stocked into inventory. The following steps guide you through the process of receiving a vehicle:
1. From the Gate app menu, choose Receive Vehicle (see Figure 1).
2. On the Vehicle Receiving page that appears, click on Receive Vehicle (see Figure 2).
3. On the Scanning VIN page, scan the VIN or click on the pencil to manually enter it.
If you prefer to manually enter the VIN, click on the pencil icon and then use the keyboard to enter the information. When you’re done entering the VIN, click on Save.
Warning: Remember to validate the VIN against the VIN plate to discover discrepancies — for example, the label has been switched or the door is from a salvage vehicle.
4. Click on Done.
The Receiving Vehicle Details page appears (see Figure 3).
5. If needed, make changes to the Arrival Date, Year, Make, and/or Model fields or add Notes by clicking on the desired field and using the scroll bar or keyboard at the bottom of the page.
Remember: At any point, you can click on Cancel in the top-right corner to cancel the process. The vehicle won’t be received and won’t be stocked into inventory (see Figure 4).
6. Click on Receive Vehicle.
The vehicle is received, but not stocked into inventory (see Figure 5).
