Add Canned Jobs

Select a canned job from a list.

Canned jobs are requests that use standard phrasing that you select from a list. You can use the Canned Jobs function to add one or more repair orders after the vehicle has been stocked into inventory. 

Note: The Gate app pulls these jobs from V-TRACE, so the jobs need to be set up in V-TRACE to be visible in the Gate app.

The following steps guide you through the process of adding canned jobs:

1. Log in to the Gate app and choose Vehicle View from the menu (see Figure 1).

2. Scan the VIN or stock sticker or click on the pencil icon to manually enter or search for the VIN (see Figure 2).

If you prefer to manually enter the VIN, click on the pencil icon and then use the keyboard to enter the information. You can enter the full VIN or search for the VIN using its last six or eight digits (see Figure 3). When you’re done entering the VIN, click on Save. 

3. If more than one vehicle appears, select the correct one from the list. 

You see a snapshot of the vehicle (see Figure 4).

4. Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of the page, as shown in Figure 5.

5. From the Available Actions menu, choose Add Canned Jobs (see Figure 6).

A list of canned jobs appears. 

6. Select one or more canned jobs and then click on the Back arrow (see Figure 7).

Tip: If a canned job was recently added into V-TRACE and isn’t showing in the Gate app list, pull the page down to refresh the list. The new canned job should appear.

A confirmation page appears (see Figure 8). Your canned jobs have been added.
