When you log into the Inspections Portal, you see a vehicle list. You can find the vehicle you want to view by using the Search feature in the top-left corner of the screen (see Figure 1). You can perform a basic or advanced search, which allows you to be more specific in your search criteria.
Basic search
The following steps walk you through the process of searching for vehicles by their stock numbers, VINS, assignment IDs, or tags:
1. In the Inspections Portal, click on the drop-down list to the left of the search box to select the criteria you’d like to search by.
You can search by a stock number, VIN, assignment ID, or tag (see Figure 2).
2. From the drop-down list shown in Figure 2, select your criteria to search by.
For example, if you’re searching by VIN, you’re prompted to enter the full VIN or the last six digits of the VIN.
3. Enter the stock number, VIN, assignment ID, or tag in the Search text box.
4. Click on the Search icon (see Figure 4).
A list of vehicles matching your search parameters appears (see Figure 5).
Advanced search
An advanced search allows you to be more specific with your search criteria. To perform an advanced search, follow these steps:
1. Click on Advanced Search (see Figure 6).
2. In the Advanced Search window, click on the tabs to specify your search criteria (see Figure 7).
Each tab contains search options specific to that topic. You can select multiple check boxes in each tab. Remember: The search parameters build upon themselves. In other words, the search criteria you specify in each tab are carried over to the next one so that you can search by multiple items.
The following list describes the options included in each tab:
Dates: You don’t have to specify a date, or you can search by one or multiple sales dates (see Figure 8) or an inspection creation date range.
Phases: Select the relevant check boxes for the phases or work queues you’d like to search. You can select more than one check box. For example, in Figure 9, the results will be filtered by the Pending Approval, Pending Certification/Estimates, Pending Repair, and Pending Suggested Repair work queues. If no work queues are selected, all sale vehicles will appear in the search results.
Certification: Select the check boxes for certification, frame check, or test drive status you want to search by.
Condition/Repair: Select the check boxes for the condition or repair you’d like to search by (see Figure 10).
Inventory/System: Select the check boxes to indicate your search criteria.
Needs Attention: You can be more specific when it comes to searching for items that need attention. For example, you can search for vehicles that need a mileage check or have missing keys (see Figure 11).
Rental: You can also search by rental status.
If you no longer want to search by a specific item, click on the X next to it to remove it.
3. If you want to include cancelled and sold vehicles in your search, select the Include Canceled and Sold check box.
This check box may not be available depending on the search criteria you specified.
4. When you’re done specifying your search criteria, click on the Search button.
Your search results appear, as shown in Figure 12.
