Before you begin scanning vehicles, confirm that the device’s Location Services are turned on. To do so, go to Settings-->Privacy and make sure that Location Services says On, as shown in Figure 1. If it doesn’t, click on Location Services and slide the toggle to the On position.
Next, check the location accuracy of AuctionTrac by tapping twice on the person icon on the profile page (see Figure 2). The location that appears should be within five to ten meters of the vehicle’s location. If it’s not, then you will may need to adjust your GPS settings.
The following steps walk you through the process of adjusting your GPS settings:
1. In Settings, confirm that the Wi-Fi is on but not connected to a network (see Figure 3).
If it isn’t, click on Wi-Fi and slide the toggle to the left so that it is no longer connected.
2. While still in Settings, make sure that Bluetooth is set to On (see Figure 4).
If it isn’t, click on Bluetooth and slide the toggle to the On position.
3. In Settings, give the AuctionTrac application permission to always access location.
To do so, click on AuctionTrac and make sure that Location is set to Always (see Figure 5). If it isn’t, click on Location and select Always from the list that appears.
4. Set the device’s date and time to automatic.
To do so, go to Settings-->General-->Date & Time and then slide the toggle to Set Automatically, as shown in Figure 6.
5. Make sure that Low Power Mode is turned off.
You can check this setting by going to Settings-->Battery (see Figure 7). If the device is in Low Power Mode, toggle to the right to turn it off.
After you confirm the preceding settings, your GPS accuracy should improve. Tip: To improve your GPS accuracy when using Lot Scan mode, make sure that the Location Recorded window appears prior to moving on to the next vehicle. You may need to wait a few seconds before this window appears.
