The Inventory Report Builder makes building a month inventory report easy. You no longer have to export a file from AMS and upload it into AuctionTrac. The following steps walk you through the process of creating an inventory report:

1. On the AuctionTrac website (kar.auctiontrac.com), choose Reports-->Report Builder, as shown in Figure 1.

The Report Builder opens (see Figure 2).

2. Select [Create New Report] from the Select/Create a Report drop-down list.

3. Enter a report title for your report, as shown in Figure 3.

Tip: Choose consistent and meaningful names, such as 2020-05 EOM Inventory, so that your reports are easy to differentiate and find.

4. Choose a length of time from the Vehicles Scanned drop-down list (see Figure 4).

You can choose a timeframe from 7 days to more than 60 days. Tip: We recommend that you choose the shortest timeframe possible. The shorter the time, the more accurate your exceptions will be.

Tip: Although you can add VINs manually, don’t worry about adding one for now. You can add a VIN later if the vehicle doesn’t appear on either the Inventory or Vehicle Exceptions lists.

5. Click on the Create New Report button to generate your new report (see Figure 5).

The window shown in Figure 6 monitors the progress of the build.

When the build is complete, the report appears at the bottom of the window (see Figure 7). You’re now ready to reconcile the report. (For details, see the document “Reconcile Inventory” in the Help Center.)
