Late payment fees are automatically charged for certain vehicles. After a grace period ends, vehicle that meet the criteria are automatically charged a late payment fee. (To see the criteria, refer to “Understand When a Payment Is Considered Late” in the ADESA Help Center.)
You can adjust the grace periods by customer account and by auction site. When the grace period ends, the customer will be charged a late payment fee for each eligible vehicle. To adjust the grace period by customer account, see “Manage the Late Payment Fee Configuration for an Entire Customer Account” in the ADESA Help Center.
If you have access to Reference Data Maintenance in AMS, you can adjust the grace period for the entire auction site and all of its customer accounts. The following steps walk you through specifying the grace period for all buyers:
1. From the menu, choose Function→Administration→Reference Data Maintenance, as shown in Figure 1.
The Reference Data Maintenance window appears.
2. Select Late Payment Fee Grace Period from the list on the left side of the window (see Figure 2).
The right side of the Reference Data window changes so that you can edit the grace period.
3. From the Customer Type drop-down list, select the type of customer you’d like to set the grace period for.
Dealer and Public are the active customer types.
4. Enter the date you’d like the grace period to begin in the Start Date text box.
5. Enter the number of days of the grace period (see Figure 3).
6. Click on the Save button in the toolbar (see Figure 4).
The grace period is adjusted for every customer account at the auction.
