Storage fees are automatically charged for certain customer accounts. At times, a vehicle cannot be removed from the lot because a title isn’t present. If you do not want the customer to be charged when a purchased vehicle does not have a title present, you’ll need to manually change that setting.

To ensure that the status of a title is checked before a customer is charged a storage fee, follow these steps:

1. Choose Function→Customer→Customer Maintenance, as shown in Figure 1.

The Customer Maintenance window appears (see Figure 2).

2. Enter the customer you want to view.

3. Click on the Enrollments tab.

4. In the Storage Fees area, click on the Check Title Status check box to check the vehicle’s title status before charging a storage fee (see Figure 3).

Remember: By default, the Check Title Status check box is unchecked.

5. When you’re done making changes, click on the Save button in the toolbar (see Figure 4).

Your changes apply to the entire customer account.
