A geofence is a location-based service that uses GPS to communicate with mobile devices in locations of interest. The following steps walk you through the process of adding a geofence:

1. Choose Admin --> GeoFence Manager from the menu.

The GeoFence Manager appears.

2. Select Add Existing GeoFence from the Select an Action drop-down list.

3. Enter a name for the GeoFence in the GeoFence Name.

Use a name that can help staff easily identify the meaning (eg. "Mechanic Shop Staging" or "Detail Complete").

4. Add a description in the GeoFence Description text box.

5. Select a type from the GeoFence Type drop-down list.

Selecting the correct type helps us better send notifications later
(eg. Sending alerts to a shop manager when a vehicle arrives in "Mechanic Shop Staging").

6. Click on a GeoFence color.

7. Click the Add New GeoFence button.

8. Click the Draw a Shape icon and draw the outline of the GeoFence on the map.

Get in the practice of slightly overlapping the GeoFences to make sure vehicles aren't scanned in a dead zone. When a vehicle is scanned in a dead zone, it often looks like it's located off the property.

The GeoFence is created.
