This process guides you through how to associate a Beacon with a vehicle using AuctionTrac. Usually, the Gate App is used to associate a Beacon during check out. However, AuctionTrac is used in some cases (eg. the vehicle is returning from a work pass or the vehicle is being stocked in with AMS).
Before following this guide, make sure to physically install the Beacon on the vehicle. The following list provides guidance on Beacon installation spots:
Location | Notes |
Front driver’s side visor | Use this location if possible. |
Front driver’s side door handle | Use this location if there is no visor or if the visor is damaged. |
Rear-view mirror | Use this location if the door handle is not viable. |
Other | If none of the other locations are viable, use your best judgement based on the condition of the vehicle. |
Notes:
Beacons can be placed on specialty vehicles.
Beacons are weatherproof.
1. Open AuctionTrac and go to the Account Profile.
2. Verify the current location.
3. Change the Role.

4. Pair the beacon with the vehicle.
A. Tap the door icon.
B. Tap Check In.
C. Scan the VIN.
D. Scan the beacon.
5. Tap Check in.
AuctionTrac associates the vehicle and the beacon.
