Description
The mechanics of Outrun are inspired by the famous automobile arcade game of the same name, and consist of moving a vehicle from lane to lane, to avoid moving obstacles. The user has to cover the longest possible distance and achieve the highest score, within a fixed time limit.
The Adictiz Box game module delivers an adapted and extended version, including several racing environments (land, aquatic or air), multiple track scrolling speeds, and many options, including "Sound & Animations". It is therefore a particularly appealing module, which will maximize your audience's exposure to your brand universe and encourage them to regularly return to your campaign to improve their score.
Preparing Graphic Elements
Before setting up your campaign, prepare all necessary visuals.
Refer to the article âCreating the Graphics for Your Campaignâ for recommendations. Download the graphics pack containing:

đĄ Tip: leave space for game variables on the background.
Settings
Click the Settings tab to access game settings.
Number of Participations (if âLimited Participationâ is enabled): set a maximum number of participations per day, week, month, or campaign, then assign a âAlready Playedâ page where users will be redirected once the limit is reached. We recommend leaving this option disabled to encourage users to replay freely, improve their score, and try to enter the top 100.
Game Mode
Terrestrial: Any vehicle or character on a track: cyclist, animal, race car, etc.
Aquatic: Any vehicle or character on water: swimmer, jetski, boat, etc.
Aerial: Any vehicle or character in the air: paraglider, bird, airplane, etc.
Game Speed: adjust the speed to fit difficulty and visual rendering. For example, a Slow mode suits a âterrestrialâ course (scooter), while a Fast mode fits a race car visual.
Number of Lanes: set the number of lanes available to the user, which affects track width and options to avoid obstacles. For example, with three lanes, the user can move left or right, slightly limiting choices. We recommend three lanes if unsure.
Lane Width: set lane width (in pixels) to match your obstacles. If unsure, we recommend 300 pixels.
Enable Track Hills: activate this to give a non-linear track effect. The user will feel:
A hilly track in terrestrial mode
Riding through waves in aquatic mode
An air current effect in aerial mode
Enable Camera Movement: this highlights track hills by moving the camera behind the vehicle. It requires track hills to be enabled.
Enable Turns: add some dynamism by enabling turns. In aerial and aquatic modes, the effect is lighter to simulate realistic flight or navigation.
Enable Jumps / Loops: the user can jump over obstacles with a terrestrial/aquatic vehicle or do loops with an aerial vehicle by pressing the up arrow on a keyboard or the âupâ button on mobile.
Moving Obstacles: activate obstacles that move on the track. Their speed will be half of the userâs speed, creating a sense of driving in traffic. Recommended if obstacles are vehicles or characters.
Time (in seconds): determines the time for the user to reach the finish line, ending the game and awarding a bonus.
Enable âShieldâ Bonus: allows the user to avoid an obstacle by making the vehicle temporarily invincible (vehicle shows a flashing halo).
Enable âPointsâ Bonus: adds points when collected. Points are awarded left to right as uploaded: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000.
Enable âLoss of Controlâ Penalty: slows down the playerâs vehicle if they hit it.
Show Result Page: activate to display whether the user won. Choose between Score Only (ranking or raffle) and Score to Achieve.

If you enabled Shield bonus or Loss of Control penalty, you can import their visuals. Multiple visuals can be uploaded for bonuses to vary your brand universe.
Obstacles on Track: upload up to 4 different obstacle visuals.

You can also upload sounds for vehicle actions (normal, left turn, right turn) and animate bonuses/penalties. Background music (MP3 or MPEG, max 1MB) can also be added during the race.
