Tags are labels you attach to items in Environet by typing the @ symbol. Once something carries a tag, you can filter by it, which makes it easier to work with one project or one part of your operation at a time.

Open the item you want to tag and go to its description field. Type the @ symbol followed by your tag name, then save. A list of existing tags appears as you type, so you can reuse one or create a new one.

Tags work on devices, alerts, reports, and dashboards.

Once your items are tagged, filter your device, alert, report, and dashboard lists by tag. Everything sharing that tag comes up together.

Most teams tag by project, site, floor, or department, using the names they already use internally. For example: @floor-1, @philadelphia-office, @accounting.

When you choose devices for a report or a dashboard widget, enter a tag in the devices field instead of selecting each device. On a deployment of multiple devices, this replaces a long manual selection with one entry.

Device tags carry into Noesis, so you can reference a tag in a question and Noesis will pull data from every device carrying it. For example:

Tags on reports, alerts, and dashboards are not currently passed to Noesis.
