Why do I need to be verified?

Updated over a week ago

At AffordableHousing.com, we prioritize the safety, trust, and integrity of our marketplace. Account verification helps ensure that only legitimate property owners and authorized property managers can list and manage properties on our platform. This protects renters from fraud and helps maintain a reliable experience for everyone.

What does verification involve?

Most owners are verified by answering a short set of questions when creating an account or speaking with our support team. In some cases, if the information provided is incomplete or doesn’t sufficiently confirm ownership or authorization, our team may request proof of ownership or authorization.

What documents can I use to verify my account?

If documentation is required, we may ask you to provide one of the following:

  • Deed

  • Closing documents

  • Property Management Agreement (PMA)

  • W9

Our team will review the document solely for verification purposes.

We reserve the right to request documentation when there is reasonable cause to believe verification is needed to protect site integrity and renter security.

When might documentation be requested?

Documentation may be requested if:

  • Verification questions cannot be confidently confirmed

  • Ownership or management authority is unclear

  • Additional confirmation is needed to protect renters and prevent fraudulent listings

This does not mean there is a problem with your account. It simply helps us complete verification securely.

How do I complete verification?

If you have a new account or have been asked to verify your ownership, please contact our support team:

Call:(866) 466-7328

An agent will guide you through the verification steps and let you know how to securely submit documentation, if needed.

Our goal is to make verification as quick and straightforward as possible while keeping AffordableHousing.com safe for owners and renters alike.
