Checkout upsells, post-purchase upsells, and thank you page upsells all have this setting available to them! But what exactly does it do?

This makes it so that the discount percentage that you're offering will stay the same, but it will look like a bigger discount if the item has a compare at price!

Example

Here's an example of what happens when the setting is on compared to when it's off.

Let's say you have a "Ocean Blue Shirt" product on your store.

It's being sold for $40, and has a compare at price of $60.

Your upsell is offering this product at a 20% discount, making it so the product price is now $32 instead of $40.

When Disabled

With the "Use Compare at Price" setting disabled, you'll notice that the displayed discount is "Save 20%". The crossed out price is the original price of the product instead of the compare at price.

If we do the math, the difference between $40 (the compare at price) and $32 (the discounted price) is around 20%!

When Enabled

With the "Use Compare at Price" setting enabled, the displayed discount is actually "Save 47%" now! The crossed out price is now the compare at price of the product instead of the original price.

If we do the math, the difference between $60 (the compare at price) and $32 (the discounted price) is around 47%!
