AfterSell's post-purchase upsell feature allows you to offer additional products to your customers after they have completed their purchase. This can help increase your sales and improve customer satisfaction.
However, you may want to customize the appearance of the upsell button to better match your brand's aesthetic. In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing the post-purchase upsell button background colour.
Understanding the Default Button Colour
The background color of the post-purchase upsell button will always match the button color of your Shopify Checkout page. This is enforced by Shopify to maintain a cohesive and seamless checkout experience for your customers.
The way to change your button colour depends on whether you're on Shopify's Checkout Extensibility update or not! See both of those cases below:
Checkout Extensibility
If you're using Checkout Extensibility, go to: Shopify Admin > Settings > Checkout, then click the "Customize" button on your live checkout profile:
Next, navigate to the Settings tab on the left and adjust the button colour as shown in the image below.
Legacy Checkout
If you're NOT using Checkout Extensibility, go to:
Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes, then click the "Customize" button on your live theme.
Next, navigate to the Settings tab on the left and locate the "Checkout" section. Open it and adjust the button colour as shown in the image below.
From there, you'll be able to change the button colour:
After saving your changes, they will be applied to your live store immediately.
To see these updates in the AfterSell editor, be sure to exit and re-enter the post-purchase upsell editor.
Understanding the Button Text Colour
The text on the button is automatically determined by Shopify according to the button background colour. This ensures that the text remains visible and easy to read.
Please note that our editor preview may occasionally show minor inaccuracies, but the post-purchase branding will match your Shopify checkout settings on a live offer.
